The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
The University has made a significant mark in the areas of higher education, community education and continual professional development. Over the years, IGNOU has lived up to the country’s expectations of providing education to the marginalized sections of society. Free of cost education is being provided to all jail inmates across the country. A large number of SC/ST students have been admitted to various programmes of the University.
IGNOU Programme Study Centre 16158P, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Social Work, Morane, Dhule was established in February 2019. The study centre comes under the Regional Centre, Pune.

| Description | The MSW programme offers opportunity to learners for higher studies in professional social work. Besides offering the core courses pertaining to social work curriculum across the globe and India, it includes themes in some of the pertinent areas in social work such as globalization; migration, history of social work in India. The practical components have been meticulously prepared to provide the learners, hands on training, which will enable the candidates to find suitable placements within and outside the country. For those seeking admission with effect from July 2018 session, it may be noted that they will be offered the revised version of MSW Programme. Accordingly, a student is expected to successfully complete 72 credits which include compulsory courses, elective courses as well as fieldwork. |

According to university regulations, the admission and examination process is conducted twice a year. Admission are held for July Session and January Session and Examinations are held in June and December. The Programme Study Center carries out various activities, such as the induction meeting, which is a welcome function for newly enrolled students, distributing ID cards, conducting theory counseling sessions, field work supervision, submission and evaluation of assignments etc.
